>PhD Scholarship in Autonomic Service Configuration Management at Department of Telematics
Closing date: April 30, 2006.
At Department of Telematics, Faculty of Information Technology, Mathematics and Electrical Engineering, the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) there is PhD scholarship offered within the research area: “Networked Services and Multimedia Systems”. Department of Telematics has 3 research areas:
Networked Services and Multimedia Systems,
Networks,
Information Security.
Department of Telematics has at present approximately 32 PhD students. The department is presently involved in one national centre of Excellence (Q2S), one European Network of Excellence (Euro- NGI) and two EU research projects. This PhD scholarship is financed by Department of Telematics.
The primary research focus of the scholarship is “autonomic service configuration management of adaptable service systems”. Autonomic communication is a paradigm for distributed self-organising, self-management, self-diagnosis and self-protection of communication networks and networked services. The research will develop and evaluate architectures, algorithms and policy based logic decision system applicable for autonomic service configuration management.
At the department there are several labs related to the research area “Networked Services and Multimedia Systems”, such as the TAPAS-lab (http://tapas.item.ntnu.no) and the PATS-lab (http://www.item.ntnu.no/lab/pats/). The research related to this scholarship intends to use and to further develop the TAPAS-lab as an experimental test-bed.
We look for a candidate who has MSc in the field of Telematics, Computer Science or similar and have strong enough marks to be accepted as a PhD candidate at NTNU.
