Scholarships for Master's and PhD Study in Women's Studies

Scholarships are available to suitably qualified candidates for
research higher degrees (PhD and Masters by research). The annual
scholarship round closes in October each year.

From time to time a
mid-year scholarship round may be held and applicants should contact
the Centre Director to establish whether a mid-year round is
scheduled for the current year. Scholarships are awarded on the
basis of academic merit and successful applicants would normally
hold a first class honours degree or its equivalent (e.g. coursework
Masters with a significant thesis component graded at high
distinction). Both Australian Postgraduate Awards (APA) and Monash
Graduate Scholarships (MGS) are awarded. Candidates, however, need
only submit a single application to cover both schemes. It should be
noted that these schemes are highly competitive. Those intending to
apply for a scholarship to pursue a research higher degree in
Women's Studies are advised to contact the Director of the Centre
for Women's Studies and Gender Research prior to completing their
application form. Applications that are late or incomplete cannot be
