SCHOOL OF AMERICAN RESEARCH, RESIDENT SCHOLAR FELLOWSHIPS

Targeted Fields
Humanities. Social Sciences. School of Arts and Architecture.
Specifically anthropology and related fields including: art, history,
philosophy, and sociology.


Open To
Students Working on Doctoral Dissertation. Postdoctoral Scholars.

Citizenship
No citizenship requirements.

Eligibility Requirements
Preference is given to applicants whose fieldwork or basic research is
complete and who need time to write manuscripts. Predoctoral candidates
must be advanced to candidacy by December 1st.

Stipend
Stipend of up to $40,000, an apartment and office, library assistance,
and other benefits during a nine-month tenure are offered.

11/15/2006

Program Description
Six scholars will be awarded one of three types of fellowships that are
offered to predoctoral and postdoctoral scholars to pursue research on
human culture, behavior, history, or evolution at the School of
American
Research. Nine-month tenure is from September through May.
