The University of Edinburgh China & Hong Kong Scholarship
The University of Edinburgh will offer one Master's scholarship for postgraduate study in any subject offered by the University. The scholarship is funded by the University of Edinburgh's alumni in China and in Hong Kong, and is supported by the Edinburgh University Association (Hong Kong). The scholarship will cover tuition fees and will be tenable for one academic year.
Eligibility
The scholarship will be awarded to a Chinese citizen who is normally resident in China or the Hong Kong SAR and has resided there for a minimum of three years, and who is accepted for admission on a full-time basis for a postgraduate Master's programme of study at the University of Edinburgh.
Applicants should already have been offered a place at the University of Edinburgh and should have firmly accepted that offer or be intending to do so.
Criteria
The scholarship will be awarded on the basis of academic merit with candidates requiring the equivalent of a UK First Class Honours degree from a recognised university.

A completed scholarship application form, together with a copy of your degree transcript and two academic references, should be received by the Scholarships and Student Finance Office by the closing date of
2 April 2007 in order to be considered for the scholarship.
Selection Procedure
A Selection Committee will meet in mid May 2007 to select the scholarship holders. The winners of the scholarship will be announced in June 2007.
Conditions of Award
The scholarship recipient will be expected to:
Support the publicity associated with the award of the scholarship either in Hong Kong or the United Kingdom
Be willing to meet with members of the Edinburgh University Association (Hong Kong) if required. The first meeting is likely to take place prior to the scholar taking up their place at the University
Provide a short report for the University of Edinburgh Development Trust and the Edinburgh University Association (Hong Kong) on completion of the degree programme outlining his or her experience of studying in Edinburgh. This may also involve giving a short talk to members of the Edinburgh University Association (Hong Kong)
Give permission for his/her contact details to be made available to members of the Executive Committee of the Edinburgh University Association (Hong Kong).
